Details

Everest view trekking is the Everest Short trek especially designed for all those trekking enthusiasts who are short on time but do not want to miss the opportunity to devour the close-up views of the world’s highest peak – Mt.Everest. The interesting part of this trek is that even the senior citizens and children can successfully do this trek. This is an abridged version of the Everest Base Camp Trek with focus only on the views from relatively lower part of Nepal. Also known as Everest Panorama View Trek, you shall be trekking through the dense forest full with rhododendrons, crossing rivers via several suspension bridges, passing the settlements of Sherpas, and enjoying the spiritual inclination of these people. No other trekking package can offer you the best views of Everest in so much short time, with a complete blend of little adventure, scenic landscapes, staggering views of the Everest Base Camp, and some cultural exploration.

Route
Kathmandu (1,345 m)- Lukla (2,860 m)- Phakding (2,610 m)- Namche Bazar (2,330 m)- Tyangboche (3,860 m)- Monju (2,800 m)- Lukla (2,860 m) – Kathmandu (1,345 m

Food and Accommodation
Throughout the trek, you shall be served with local dishes at several teahouses and hotels. You shall be severed with pancake, toast, oats, eggs, etc. with tea or coffee for breakfast. You can get spaghetti, Macaroni, noodles, Dal Bhat, etc. for lunch. It is better to have Dal Bhat during this trek. This dish is served with rice, lentils, green vegetables, different varieties of vegetables, meat, Papad, pickles made locally and salad. The interesting part of this dish is that you can ask for extra rice etc. within the same charge; you shall not be charged for additional servings. Ideally, this dish is supposed to be served at the same cost until you get filled. It is often said “Dal Bhat Power 24 Hour”, which is practically true. However, you can also get some international dishes, in limited varieties.

Difficulty
Unlike other treks in the Everest region, you have to walk for 4-5 hours every day during Everest View Trek. The altitude deviates from 1,345 m (at Kathmandu) to 3,860 (at Tyangboche) throughout the trek. There is less chance of altitude sickness. None of the trails are strenuous. Due to these reasons, Everest View Trekking is the perfect trekking package for senior citizens, children, and people who cannot trek too long and cannot adapt in high altitude areas. If you have some prior trekking experience and have been doing exercises regularly, they shall be added advantages for successfully completing this trek; though they aren’t mandatory. These let your body become familiar with high altitude and make you adapt easily while there’s less content of oxygen in the air. Since this is an easy trek limited to the lower altitude regions in the Everest region, you shall not face any challenge or any difficulty to complete this trek.

Best time to travel
September to October and March to May are considered the perfect times to do any trek in Nepal, including the Everest View Trek. During September to October, the lower altitude areas aren’t too hot, whereas the high altitude areas, though you won’t be trekking in much high altitude, remains moderate—not too cold. However, the early morning and night can be quite chilly and cold. However, during March to May, the lower region remains quite hot, but the higher region stays moderate. There might be some possibility of rainfall. October is the busiest time of the year. And you shall find lots of trekkers and climbers during this season trekking in this region. Perhaps, despite your preference, this is also the best time to do this trek.

Travel insurance

Travel Insurance is mandatory for all customers who looking to travel in Nepal with the Mountain Hiking & Trekking .The Travel Insurance must cover both the evacuation and medical cost
There are many insurance companies that offer travel insurance services over the internet. You can choose from a wide variety of insurance companies as per your convenience. Especially when it comes to trekking in Nepal, there is always a narrow chance of minor health issues, injuries and most importantly – altitude sickness.

It is essential that you prefer an insurance rule that covers the cost of the helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of main accidents and delicate mountain sickness (AMS). through such great cases of an emergency evacuation, a helicopter service is the only way out of the mountains. This includes a rescue team for both – ground evacuation and rescue. Which is why we need your travel insurances to cover the cost of helicopter services and evacuation from the Himalayas

It is forever recovered to be safe than apologetic.

Before you plan your trip with Mountain Hiking & Trekking do make sure that your travel insurance covers all the costs mentioned above from a reliable company.

Trip FAQ's

1. How high is Everest’s Base Camp?

Fly from Kathmandu(1310m) to Lukla (2860m) via small plane (17-19 people occupy), which takes about 30 minutes; and start trekking further to the south face of Mount Everest Base Camp (EBC) at an altitude of 5380m or 17600ft above sea level.

2. How difficult/challenging is this trek? Does it fit any trekkers?

This trek is a kind of moderate level of trekking. The tour has rolling flats and steeply ascends, but it is generally manageable for the trekker of any age with little trekking experience. The trekker has to be physically fit, though. However, it is advised to have some training before planning this EBC Trip to adjust to high altitude sickness. There is no exact age limit for this trekking as seniors and minimum age people can still do it. Still, it is suggested to know the route map, itinerary, difficulty, altitude, action challenges, fitness, medications, requirements, and other advice from blogs or news. Check out essential info before heading for NepalTrekking information while planning this EBC Trip in Nepal.

3. How far or long does it take to reach the EBC?

The total Everest Base Camp Trek Distance is 62 Kilometers or 38.58 miles. It will take 7 to 8 days to reach Everest Base Camp (EBC) and 3-4 days to return to Lukla. Usually, the trek to EBC is slower because of the high altitude and possibility of AMS; you will need to adjust to the new heights. Each day you will walk less than 8-10 Kilometers; the higher your trek, your walking speed will get slower. It is suggested to have some extra days in Kathmandu and start the hike right after the day of your arrival because of flight cancellations due to unfavorable weather conditions.

It is wise to follow a 12-Day standard EBC Trekking itinerary (To and From Lukla) to avoid AMS and have a smooth trekking experience.

4. What is the standard itinerary, Budget, the best season for Everest Base Camp Trek, and Can I join a group?

Everest Base Camp Trek 12 Days’ best times/months/seasons are  Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, and November). EBC Trekking in other months can be the hardest because of heavy snowfall in winter (December, January, February) and heavy rains in Summer (June, July, August).

Regarding the group to join, yes! You can enter, but we need to see the available dates to join the group. However, the Everest Base Camp trek can be done solo, and we provide one guide and porter for every trek itinerary we offer.

5. Do I need to have travel insurance? How likely is altitude sickness?

Of course! It’s RECOMMENDED to purchase travel insurance and make sure it covers emergency evacuation at high altitudes. Altitude sickness can attack anyone, no matter if your fitness level is good; the solution is to take time and walk slowly. If you feel AMS, it is suggested to go to the lower elevation.

Additional Information
Trip’s Quick Facts

Duration: You’ll typically need 12-14 days of full-on trekking (that’s right, your “rest days” involve walking too!) to complete the 80-mile (130km) roundtrip that starts from Lukla.

Time: The standard Everest Base Camp Trek is 130KM round trip which is divided into 12 days. Of those 12 days, it takes 8 days to get to Everest Base Camp and 4 days to get back. 12 Days always includes time and space for acclimatization.

Permit: Trekkers need to obtain permits to enter the Sagarmatha National Park and the Gokyo Valley Conservation Area.

Guide: Hiring a licensed guide is mandatory for this trek, and it is recommended to hire a porter as well.

Starting point :The two most common starting points for the trip to Everest Base Camp are Lukla and Jiri. The shorter and more popular route begins and ends in the city of Lukla, and it’s expected to take between 12 and 14 days.

Finishing point: Since 1950 (when Tibet was closed), most Everest expeditions have left from Nepal and gone via the southeast ridge and the South Col (instead of via the North Col). When climbers attempt to climb Everest from the southeast ridge in Nepal, their final camp (usually Camp IV) is situated on the South Col.

Highest point : The highest point on most Everest Base Camp Treks tends to be the Kala Patthar viewing point where you will be blessed with some of the best views of Everest and the nearby peaks.

Foods : The trek offers a variety of food options ranging from traditional Nepali dishes to international cuisine. The teahouses along the trail also serve hot drinks and snacks.
