This trek is one of the most popular trek in Bhutan that endows you with great variety of Bhutanese landscape and is without doubt, one of the most beautiful & unspoiled trekking areas in the entire Himalayas. On this 12 day trek you not just embrace an amazing opportunity to trek the hotspots of Bhutan but also get to feast on an incredible diversity of mountains and ecosystems. A hike to Takstang Monastery provides ample acclimatization for a delightful trek from Drugyal dzong towards campsite at Shana (2800 m) and thereon to Soi, Thangthangkha and then to Jangothang. A rest day in Jangothang acclimatizes you completely for further trek to Lingshi, Shodu, Barshong and finally to Dodina.
Along the trekking trail, nature scintillates you with its lush forests of pine, oak, rhododendron, juniper, bamboo and spruce, Pachu River gracing down the majestic landscape, outstanding views of Chomolhari (7320 m), Jichu Drake (6900m) and Tshrim Khang, cliffs overlooking stunning views of cascading waterfalls, yak pastures and trout-fishing sites. If you get lucky, you may get to spot rare fauna like blue sheep and snow leopard. Eventually, after insightful sightseeing in Thimpu you bade your farewell to Bhutan with indelible trekking experience, photographs and mementos that intimately bond you to Bhutan and its people throughout your lifetime.

Arrive at Paro International Airport and Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Explore Paro town in the evening.

Start the trek to Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. The trek takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys along the way. Reach Taktsang Monastery and explore the complex, which is built on a cliffside. Learn about the history and significance of the monastery from your guide. Take your time to absorb the spiritual ambiance and take memorable photos.
Explore the ruins of Drugyel Dzong, which once served as a strategic fortress to defend against invasions from Tibet. Enjoy the stunning views of Mount Jomolhari from the Dzong
Start the trek towards Soi Thangthangkha. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding forests and rivers. Stop for lunch at a suitable spot along the trail. Continue trekking and reach the campsite of Soi Thangthangkha.
Enjoy the beautiful landscapes, including lush forests, alpine meadows, and cascading waterfalls. Along the way, you may encounter yaks and other wildlife, adding to the natural charm of the journey. After several hours of trekking, reach the campsite at Jangothang, situated at an altitude of around 4,000 meters.
Spend a full day at Jangothang to acclimatize to the high altitude and soak in the surrounding beauty. Take short hikes around the area to explore the nearby valleys, lakes, and glacial streams. If you’re interested, you can also visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a historical fortress that offers a glimpse into Bhutan’s past. Use this day to rest, relax, and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the high Himalayas.
Start your journey early in the morning from Jangothang, which is located in the beautiful Paro Valley of Bhutan. Begin hiking towards Lingshi, which is approximately 22 kilometers away. The trek will take you through stunning landscapes, including lush valleys, pristine rivers, and snow-capped peaks. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding mountains, such as Jichu Drake and Tsherim Gang, as you make your way towards your destination. Arrive at the Lingshi campsite in the late afternoon or early evening. Settle in at the campsite and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by your trekking team. Spend the night in tents, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayas.
The journey offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscapes and passes through remote villages. Stop at Jigme Dorji National Park, Bhutan’s largest national park, known for its diverse flora and fauna. Take a short walk along one of the park’s nature trails and soak in the pristine wilderness. Continue your drive to the Dochula Pass, a mountain pass adorned with 108 memorial chortens (Buddhist stupas). Enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks, including the majestic Gangkar Puensum, the highest mountain in Bhutan. Have a picnic lunch at Dochula Pass, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Resume your journey towards Shodu and reach your destination in the late afternoon. Check into your accommodation, relax, and enjoy the tranquility of the Shodu Valley. Spend the evening exploring the area around Shodu and interacting with the locals. Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in Shodu.

Take some time to rest and explore the village. In the evening, interact with the locals and learn about their culture.
